What are the alcohol limits for drivers?
For drivers under 20 years, the limit is zero
For drivers 20 years and up, the limit is 250mg
The blood alcohol is 50mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood (0.05)
What happens if you fail an evidential breath test?
If you fail an evidential breath test between 251 and 400 micrograms of alcohol per litre of breath, you'll receive an infringement notice with a $200 infringement fee and 50 demerit points. It's also important to note, you can still be over the limit the following day depending on how much you had to drink.
